Beloit wraps up first half Midwest League title

June 18, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Beloit Snappers wrapped up the first half Western Division Midwest League title over the weekend.  The Snappers closed out the first half with a 6-2 loss to Quad Cities, but had already wrapped up the title by 1-game over 2nd place Clinton.

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers ended the first half on a 3-game winning streak after a 6-2 win over Cedar Rapids to finish off a 5-2 road trip.  But the Timber Rattlers still finished last in the West, a full 21-games behind Beloit.

Today is an off day.  The league's annual Midwest League All-Star game is at Kane County on Tuesday night.
