Brewers close in on deal with first round pick

The Milwaukee Brewers are reportedly close to reaching a deal with their first round draft pick, Matt LaPorta, from the University of Florida. 

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel , the Brewers and LaPorta's agent Scott Boras have reached the "language" stage, with the money already agreed upon.

LaPorta is expected to get a signing bonus of just over $2-million.
