Brewers take first series in a month

June 4, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers won a series for the first time in a month, taking three out of four from the Florida Marlins at Miller Park over the weekend.  The Brewers shutout the Marlins 3-0 on Sunday to wrap up the series.

Ben Sheets tossed six-shutout innings to pick up his 6th win of the season.  He walked only one and struck out 7.  J.J. Hardy clubbed his 16th home run of the season.

The series win broke a 6-series losing streak for the Brewers.  Francisco Cordero worked the 9th fo rhis 21st save.  The Brewers open a four-game series against the Cubs tonight.  Chicago will be without manager Lou Pinella.  He's been suspended indefinitely for his ejection from Saturday's game against the Atlanta Braves.
