Clerk stabbed in Neenah gas station robbery now a suspect

June 14, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Police in Neenah have arrested a woman they thought was the victim in a gas station robbery.

21-year-old Crystal Lutze was stabbed during an armed robbery on Tuesday night. Neenah Police Lt. Jeff Malcore says their investigation turned up inconsistencies with her story, and that's when they realized Lutze may have played a role in the robbery. She was taken to a hospital and then arrested for helping to stage the robbery. Police believe Lutze allowed herself to be stabbed to keep suspicion off of her.

Lutze is currently being held on a 30 day probation violation. No formal charges have been filed in the robbery. 21-year-old Brandon Uphold of Neenah and a 16-year-old Menasha boy have also been arrested.
