Portage pitches in, to help young victims of abuse. Portage Daily Register publisher George Althoff is talking about the fund his newspaper has established, for the eleven year old boy and three younger children who survived Portage's "house of horrors." The boy was tortured and his mother killed and buried in the backyard. Four people, including the boy's teenage sister, face charges. Althoff says some twelve thousand dollars has been raised so far, mostly from a local community still trying to come to terms with what happened. Althoff says local pastors are helping their congregations to deal with the issues surrounding the case. In his words "it'll be awhile before Portage forgets this." A five person committee will decide how to disburse the fund.
