Jenkins Lifts Brewers over Texas

Geoff Jenkins 3-run homer in the top of the 12 th gave the Brewers a 9-6 victory over the Texas Rangers Sunday night. 

Prince Fielder smashed his National League Best 23 rd Home run of the season while Craig Counsel; connected with his first of the season.  In total the Brewers pounded out 22 hits on the evening. 

Closer Francisco Cordero blew his second straight save giving up a run in the 9 th to the Rangers to force extra innings.  Carlos Villanueva picked up the victory in relief while Claudio Vargas, normally a starter, notched the save. 

The win snapped a 3-game losing skid.  The Brewers open up a 3 game set with Detroit on Tuesday.
