It's national fishing and boating week and one group wants to make sure Wisconsinites get out on the water. Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation president Frank Peterson says too many kids are wasting time in front of the TV, and parents should be encouraged to introduce them to the tradition of fishing.
The group has launched a website that lists hundreds of locations to go fishing in Wisconsin and across the country. It features over 700 places in Wisconsin where the fishing is good. Visitors to the site also can add their own input on already identified locations or offer up their favorite places to fish. The site also provides resources for novice anglers, with details on boating safety and fishing licenses.
