Taxes and the economy top latest Badger Poll

June 21, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Wisconsinites are largely content with how things are going in the state. That's according to the latest Badger Poll from the UW Survey Center, which found 60 percent of Wisconsinites are happy with the direction the state is moving in.

The top concerns facing Wisconsin residents include taxes, health care, and the economy. However, the poll's Kathy Cramer Walsh says most respondents also feel the state is doing well economically.

Walsh says the results help show what's on the minds of Wisconin residents are a good indicator of what political candidates in the next election cycle will need to focus on.

The Governor and the legislature are also getting decent reviews in the poll. Walsh says 52 percent approve of the job Governor Doyle is doing and 57 percent say the Legislature is doing fine.

The poll is the result of a random digit dialing survey of 502 likely voters and was conducted earlier this month. It has a margin of error of plus or minus four percent.
