Admirals hire new coach

July 12, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Lane Lambert was introduced as the 17th head coach in Milwaukee Admirals history on Wednesday afternoon.

Lambert replaces Claude Noel, who left to take an assistants job with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL.

Lambert said one of his top goals is to be a more productive offensive team.  The Admirals finished 41-25-4-10 last season, yet were outscored by their opponents 230-227.

Lambert enjoyed an 18 year playing career and included stops with the Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, Quebec Nordiques and Houston Aeros.

Lambert spent his only season with the Admirals last year as an assistant coach under Claude Noel.
