Police have not released the identity of a body found in the course of an intensive search south of Madison Monday. The body, found in the course of a search for evidence related to the disappearance of Kelly Nolan, was found north of the village of Oregon, within the city limits of Fitchburg . Hundreds of officers began searching the location early Monday morning. And while Madison police spokesman Joel Despain can't give an identity or even a gender for the body, he can say “this is a homicide investigation.” Despain provided little new information during a press conference Monday afternoon, other than that Schnieder Drive will be closed “for several days,” in order to allow a multijurisdictional investigation to be completed. The Dane County coroner, said Despain, will make an identification of the body and notify next of kin. Despain said the family of the 22 year-old woman was in the search area this morning. Kelly Nolan was last seen in downtown Madison at around midnight on June 23rd.
