Body in river that of missing student

July 27, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Green Bay police have confirmed the body pulled from the Fox River Thursday is that of a missing young woman. Captain Karl Fleury says the positive identification has been made, confirming 21 year old Mahalia Xiong was the occupant of a car pulled from the water. The UW Green Bay student was last seen two weeks ago after a night out with friends. A police officer discovered tire tracks leading to the river Thursday morning. Foul play is not suspected in the death, although Fleury says investigators are awaiting toxicology results.
