Brewers go limping into all-star break

July 9, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers are limping into the all-star break.  They lost for the fifth time in the last six games, 7-2 to the Washington Nationals.

Washington's Ryan Zimmerman clubbed a 2-run homer to ignite a 6-run rally in the 6th inning and take 2 of 3 in the series.

Felipe Lopez homered and reached base four times for Washington.

The Brewers still hold a 4 1/2 game lead on the Cubs in the Central because Chicago lost yesterday at Pittsburgh.  The Brewers finished 3-7 on their road trip.

The All-Star game is Tuesday and four Brewers, Prince Fielder, Ben Sheets, J.J. Hardy and Francisco Cordero will all take part.  Fielder gets a head start tonight as he participates in the All-Star Home Run derby.
