Brewers open second half at home

July 13, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers went into the all-star break with a 3-7 road trip.  It may have been their worst performance of the season.  They try to turn things around with the start of the second half  by opening a 10-game home stand tonight against the Colorado Rockies.

The Brewers lead over the Cubs in the NL Central is down to 4 1/2 games.  They're 49-39 on the season and will send Chris Capuano to the mound tonight.  Capuano has struggled since jumping out of the gate with a 5-0 mark.

Since May 7th, Capuano is 0-6 with a 7.20 ERA.  He missed three starts in June with a pulled groin but made his last two starts and is healthy coming in.

The Rockies are 44-44 and have won five of their last 6 games.  But prior to that stretch, they had dropped 9 of 10.
