Cubs take two of three from Brewers

July 2, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers left Chicago on Sunday afternoon with a 6 1/2 game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central Division standings.  The Brewers dropped two out of three games, including Sunday's 5-1 setback.

Jason Marquis (6-4) allowed just four hits and 1 run in seven innings to pick up his first win since early May.

Ryan Theriot and Derek Lee each hit three hits for the Cubs.  Corey Hart drove in the Brewers only run with a home run in the 6th, extending his league leading hitting streak to 16 games.

The Brewers send Jeff Suppan to the mound tonight in Pittsburgh against the Pirates.
