Gard pondering another run

July 17, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Former Assembly Speaker John Gard says he's considering making another run for Congress. The Republican lost to Congressman Steve Kagen last November and he says he's taking the early steps to start a campaign for the Eighth Congressional District seat. Gard says every election is different, and Kagen now has a voting record in Congress. He charges that some of the Appleton Democrat's votes differ from what he has told people in northeast Wisconsin. Gard says he will make a final decision on his candidacy later this year.
