Green Bay hit and run driver impaled victim in windshield

July 10, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Green Bay police say a drunk driver struck two pedestrians, and drove home with one victim impaled in his windshield late Sunday night, then waited hours to call police.

Green Bay Police Departmenmt Lieutenant Dave Wesley says 40 year old Steven Warrichaiet had been out with a friend Sunday night before the accident happened. After allegedly hitting a man and a woman with his car, Warrichaiet drove six blocks to his home with the male victim still lodged in the windshield. Warrichaiet then waited nearly six hours before he called police around 5:45 Monday morning saying he believed he had been in an accident. When officers arrived at Warrichaiet's home, they found 50 year Tyrone Ware still in the windshield. Ware was pronounced dead at the scene. Wesley says 41 year old Joann Carroll-Hildahl was found at the accident scene around midnight and was hospitalized with serious injuries. Warrichaiet faces several charges including homicide while driving drunk, hit and run causing injury and hiding a corpse.
