Major League trade deadline passes without any Brewer deals

July 31, 2007 By WRN Contributor

After obtaining Scott Linebrink in a trade with the San Diego Padres last week, the Major League Baseball waiver trade deadline passed this afternoon without another deal.

The  Milwaukee Brewers had an offer on the table for Texas closer Eric Gagne, who is now headed to the Boston Red Sox.  The Brewers wanted Gagne to help a bullpen that has both struggled and been overworked.  That bullpen has compiled an ERA over six since the all-star break.
