Packers may have lost tightend Humphrey for season

July 30, 2007 By WRN Contributor

GM Ted Thompson Neither Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy or General Manager Ted Thompson would announce injured tight end Tory Humphrey's status for the season, but it appears he'll be lost for the year.

Humphrey suffered a broken bone in his lower left leg on the teams first day of training camp Saturday.

That injury has depleted an already thin group of tight ends and will likely force the Packers into a move to sign or trade for a player soon.

Humphrey was one of five tight ends in training camp and stood a good chance to make the roster.

Among the remaining four tight ends, Bubba Franks takes part in just one practice when the team works twice in the same day.  Zac Alcorn and Clark Harris were bothered by heat on Sunday and Donald Lee made it through the workout OK.
