Pros won't eat in Sheboygan this year

July 7, 2007 By WRN Contributor

There will be no competitive eating pros in Sheboygan this year. On the Fourth of July, Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest in New York City was a showdown between two of the top competitive eaters — Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi — but they won't be facing off again this year in Sheboygan's brat contest. Johnsonville, which sponsors Sheboygan's Brat Days in August, will not be holding a world championship eat-off. A spokesman for Johnsonville Brats says a change in company strategy led to the decision. He says just like they have for years, they will be holding a brat eating competition with local participants.
