Governor Doyle may be asked to use his veto pen to save college benefits for veterans. That's if a budget passes that removes college benefits for veterans.
Assembly Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Terry Musser says efforts to restore those benefits aren't getting anywhere. Musser says he may go to the Governor and ask him to veto the cuts, which currently would keep many veterans from being able to go to school.
Musser says the Governor's veto pen may be the only way to restore educational benefits to veterans.
