Sheets on the DL

July 17, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Brewers ace Ben Sheets was placed on the 15-day Disabled List on Monday with a finger injury. Sheets was hurt in Saturday's win over Colorado.  He had an MRI on Monday and will be re-examined today to find out if he'll miss two weeks or a longer time.  Sheets could be down 6-plus weeks depending on the results of tests today.  With Sheets hurt and reliever Greg Spurling taking a leave from the team to deal with a family issue, GM Doug Melvin called up pitchers Manny Para and Grant Balfour from Triple-A Nashville.

Ben Sheets doesn't think he should be labled “injury prone.” :17
