Brewers start road trip by blanking D-Backs

August 21, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers got their difficult 9-game road trip off to a great start by blanking the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-0 in Phoenix.

Prince Fielder clubbed his 39th home run of the season and drove in four runs for the Brewers.  Bill Hall also hit a 3-run homer and rookie right hander Yovanni Gallardo not only tossed six-innings of shutout ball, but he clubbed his first Major League home run as well in the win.

The Brewers moved into a first place tie with the Cubs atop the NL Central after Chicago lost to St. Louis 6-4 earlier in the day.
