Packers giving Bigby shot at starters job

August 21, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Atari Bigby The Green Bay Packers are making some changes in their defensive backfield.  Coach Mike McCarthy announced that Atari Bigby would start Thursday night against Jacksonville in place of Marquand Manuel at safety.

Bigby took every snap with the number one defense opposite Nick Collins in practice on Monday night.

Manuel signed a five-year, $10-million contract in March 2006, leaving Seattle as an unrestricted free agent.

The Packers are also moving cornerback Jarrett Bush ahead of Patrick Dendy as the nickel back.
