Stricker makes Presidents Cup team

August 13, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Madison golfer Steve Stricker finished among the top 10 Americans on the PGA Tour money list and therefore, secured a spot on the United States Presidents Cup team.

The U.S. team is determined by earnings, through the PGA Championship.

Stricker made the cut and played on the weekend at the PGA Championship after a slow start, but still finished well back in the field.  After an opening round 7 over par 77, Stricker settled down to shoot 2-under par over the final 3 days to finish 5-over, 13-shots behind champion Tiger Woods.
