Chargers strike first, lead Packers 7-3 in first quarter

September 23, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The San Diego Chargers struck first in their game with the Packers at Lambeau Field as quarterback Philip Rivers found wide reciever Vincent Jackson for 27 yards down the right sideline for a touchdown.

The Packers answere back on their next possession, setting for a 28-yard Mason Crosby field goal.  The Packers had a chance for more, but tight end Bubba Franks dropped what would have been a difficult catch in the end zone.

The Chargers have already experienced a tough loss in the first quarter.  Tight end Antonio Gates left the game with what appears to be a hamstring injury.

The Charges punted on their next possession and the Packers take over trailing late in the first quarter 7-3, starting at the San Diego 49 yard line.
