Estrada's slam leads Brewers past Houston

September 19, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Johnny Estrada hit his 2nd grand slam of the season against Houston and the Brewers went on to beat the Astros 9-1.  The win moves the Brewers a percentage point in front of the Cubs in the Central.

Ryan Braun added his 31st home run and Geoff Jenkins and Rickie Weeks also went deep in the win.

Claudio Vargas (11-4) worked 4 innings of relief to pick up the win.  He was called on in the second when Ben Sheets left with hamstring tightness.  Sheets will be further evaluated today to determine if he'll be able to make his next start against Atlanta on Sunday.

The Brewers go for the sweep against the Astros tonight.  Milwaukee is 13-4 against the Astros this season, the most wins against any opponent since moving to the National League in 1998.
