Governor talks up ginseng in China

September 12, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Governor Doyle is now in China on the second leg of his Asian trade mission.

The Wisconsin trade group will formalize deals for Osh Kosh truck, Madison's Tomo Therapy and talk with Olympics organizers about opportunities for other Wisconsin businesses during the 2008 Olympics in B eijing.

The Governor will also discuss the massive recall of Chinese products in this country caused by lead paint and other questionable ingredients in products such as toothpaste. In fact, the Governor expects the Chinese will bring the subject up themselves.

The Governor knows what it's like to have an inferior product passed off as Made in Wisconsin.

Ginseng, exported from Wisconsin, is a valuable commodity in China and highly regarded. But lately, an inferior type of ginseng is being sold that some here feel will give the state a bad name.
