State lawmaker's blog site hijacked

September 6, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Representative Mark Pocan (D-Madison) decided to check his blog site which he hasn't had time lately to update. Somebody did it for him.

Pocan discovered someone, using his name and blog template, is now trying to sell German books and music through his site. Even though the site still says "Hi. I'm Mark Pocan", the real Mark Pocan says it's not him. He doesn't even speak German.

Pocan is trying to find out how someone took over his blog site and see if he can get it back. Besides advertising, there are links to other blogs the lawmaker allegedly wrote including one entitled, "I hate sluts".

But, with a sense of humor, Pocan says it could be worse. They could have said he wants corporations to get more tax breaks.
