Steinhauer goes wire-to-wire to win on LPGA Tour

September 3, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Madison's Sherri Steinhauer led from start to finish, capturing the 2007 LPGA State Farm Classic on Sunday.

Steinhauer thought she was facing a playoff after her bunker shot rolled off the green on the 18th hole.  But Steinhauer rolled in a 23 foot putt from the first cut of rough, winning for the 8th time in her career.  It's also just the 5th wire-to-wire finish on the tour this year.

It's Steinhauer's first win since capturing the women's British Open last year.
