September 4, 2007 By WRN Contributor

UW-La Crosse quarterback, Griffin Moe (Junior – Waupaca), is the WIAC 's Offensive Player of the Week.

Making his first career start, Moe completed 17 of 20 passes (85%) for 324 yards and four touchdowns in the Eagles' 47-21 win at 11th-ranked Hardin-Simmons University (Texas).  Moe completed his first 14 passes of the game and threw all four of his touchdowns in the first half.  He also rushed for 25 yards on six attempts in the contest.

UW-Eau Claire safety Zach Paul (Senior – Edgar), helped the Blugolds in a number of ways in a 42-13 win over Southwest Minnesota State University and was named the WIAC's Defensive Player of the Week.

Paul scored the Bluegolds' first touchdown of the season off a 20-yard interception return just 2 minutes, 30 seconds into the game.  Paul also broke up a pass and recovered a fumble early in the fourth quarter and was credited with seven tackles in the game.

Dustin Robinson (Senior – Florence) of UW-Stevens Point is the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Robinson blocked a punt that teammate Lincoln Berg recovered in the end zone with 38 seconds remaining in the game as the Pointers pulled out a 13-7 win at Webber International University.  The Pointers won their season opener for the 6th time in the last eight years.
