Defending taxpayers on Capitol steps

October 17, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Anti-tax activists rally at the Capitol today. Mark Block is Wisconsin Director for the national group, Americans for Prosperity . He says the timing of Monday's most recent failure to pass a budget worked out just right, and his members hope to send a message to lawmakers, and to Governor Jim Doyle as well, to pass a budget with no tax increases. Block expects 200 to 300 people to attend the anti-tax rally. Also today, as many as a thousand unionized state workers are also expected to rally at the Capitol to urge passage of a budget that adequately addresses the state's needs.
