Zapata will stand trial again

The Dane County D-A's office will try again to convict a man for the decades old death of his wife. Eugene Zapata will go on trial for a second time for allegedly killing his estranged wife more than 30 years ago. The Dane County D-A's office notified Judge Patrick Fiedler Tuesday there will be another attempt at getting a conviction, after a mistrial was declared last month. The judge indicates the next jury might not be local. Zapata is accused of killing Jeanette Zapata in October of 1976. Her body was nevery found. The second trial is set for next March.
