Cops shoot man in Waupaca Co.

November 13, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Waupaca County Sheriff's officers received a call of a suicidal subject on Monday night. When officers arrived they were confronted by a man pointing a shotgun at them. One of the officers then shot the man. None of the officers were injured during the confrontation. The man was taken to Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, and then airlifted to a Fox Valley hospital. He is expected to survive.

The Brown County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation. The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave, which officials say is normal procedure. Names of those involved in the incident have not been released.
