The chairman of the Democratic National Committee says Wisconsin students can make a difference in the 2008 election. At UW Milwaukee, Howard Dean tells students that his party is the choice, for ending the war in Iraq, but that a concerted effort in all 72 Wisconsin counties is needed to support the eventual Democratic candidate. College age voters need to play a key role, says Dean. "You will decide who the next president of the United States is," says Dean. "If the election is close, and I expect it will be, than the person who wins Wisconsin is going to have a pretty big leg up. It is a big deal." Actual candidates have thus far been focusing efforts on Iowa, although both Barack Obama and Rudy Giuliani have made visits to Wisconsin in recent weeks.
