Impasse on Iraq

November 26, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Congress may be at an impasse on a bill funding the War in Iraq. That's what Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) believes, after the US Senate recently failed to pass a bill that was approved in the House.

Baldwin believes the House has spoken clearly when it comes to the debate on any bill that may come up for the rest of the year. She says members want the President to listen to the US public and their demand for a new mission. Baldwin says it must focus on diplomacy, training Iraqi forces to stand up on their own, and the redeployment of US troops out of Iraq.

Baldwin believes Congress will wait until next year to take up the issue again.
