Proposal provides home help for veterans

Help could be on the way for Wisconsin veterans hoping to buy a house.

A bill advancing in Congress would provide substantial new funding for the state's veterans loan program. Acting state Veterans Secretary Bill Kloster the additional money would make more of Wisconsin's former service men and women eligible for the help.

Kloster says it would provide $100 million annually for the department to issue low-interest mortgage loans.
