State's first flu

Wisconsin's first case of influenza is confirmed. Tom Haupt, a state epidemiologist, says an adult from Washington County is the first confirmed case of influenza among Wisconsin residents for the 2007-08 influenza season . Getting a flu shot is the most effective way to avoid getting the flu, which can be especially dangerous for the elderly, and those with underlying health concerns.
