Beckum coming back for his senior season

December 21, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Travis Beckum Wisconsin football fans would get another season of Travis Beckum.  The 2007 first-team All-American said Thursday that he has decided to return to the Badgers for his senior season.

Beckum has 73 receptions for a nation-leading (among tight ends) 960 yards.  His 73 catches are the most ever for a Wisconsin tight end and are just two away from tying former All-America wide receiver Lee Evans' school record of 75.  Beckum's 960 yards are also a UW record for tight ends.  He needs just 40 yards to become only the fourth 1,000-yard receiver in school history.

Beckum has 134 receptions for 1,863 yards and 11 touchdowns during his career, which has included only two seasons as a tight end.
