Brewers sign Gagne to 1-year deal

December 11, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers made it official yesterday, signing closer Eric Gagne to a one-year deal worth $10-million with incentives that could add another $1-million to the deal.

Once considered the best closer in the game, Gagne has been bothered by injuries for the last few years.

But Gagne is healthy now and excited that for the first time in years, he's not heading into an offseason with rehab duties.

Gagne has tough shoes to fill.  Francisco Cordero saved 44 games for the Brewers last season.
