Packers Board of Directors to decide on Murphy today

December 3, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The 45-member Green Bay Packers Board of Directors is expected to vote today to approve the nomination of Northwestern University Athletic Director Mark Murphy as the replacement for chairman Bob Harlan.

Murphy emerged as the top choice by the Executive Search Committee last week.  Murphy needs only a majority of the 45 members to get the nod.

A possible appointment may not come without some controversy.  Some board members reportedly have concerns that Murphy is not from Green Bay and does not have management experience working in the NFL.
