Support for Governor’s call on smoking ban

Governor Doyle's latest push for a statewide smoking ban improves chances the Legislature will approve the measure. Cigarette foes are applauding Governor Doyle's push for a statewide smoking ban that includes bars and restaurants. Aaron Doeppers is with the Coalition for Tobacco-Free kids. "Wisconsin is very close to becoming the ashtray of the Midwest," said Doeppers. "Currently, 22 states have passed legislation requiring all restaurants and bars be smoke free. This is the wave of the future, and we don't want to be the last ones."
