Badger women's hockey sets single game attendance mark

January 28, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Kohl Center Senior Jinelle Zaugg scored two goals as the No. 5 Wisconsin women's hockey team defeated No. 9 St. Cloud State 4-0 Saturday afternoon at the Kohl Center.

5,377 fans attended the game which set a new NCAA women's hockey attendance record as well as a Kohl Center (pictured) record.  The support from the fans helped raise $5,377 for Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.  Three local businesses pooled together to donate $1 for every fan in attendance and Wisconsin presented a check to Second Harvest at the conclusion of the game.

Jessie Vetter (Cottage Grove, Wis.) stopped all 18 shots she faced to record her eighth shutout of the season and 23rd of her career.

Wisconsin returns home to host North Dakota this weekend at the Kohl Center.
