Brandt resigns as Packers' VP of Finance

January 29, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Andrew Brandt was a finalist for the Green Bay Packers top executive position before they hired Mark Murphy.  After not landing that job, Brandt handed in his resignation yesterday (Monday).

The teams Vice President of Finance (Brandt) has negotiated contracts and managed the Packers salary cap for the last nine years.

Brandt said he's leaving without a new job, saying it would be unfair to look for a job while he was still working for the Packers.

Packers General Manager Ted Thompson says the team has people in place to negotiate contracts and manage the salary cap until a replacement is hired.
