State legislators look to add cell phones to Wisconsin's No Call List.
The Legislature's Finance Committee is scheduled to vote on a bill this week that would protect cell phone numbers from sales calls. State Senator Jon Erpenbach (D-Middleton), the author of the bill, says people are starting to receive those calls because there are currently no protections for cell phone numbers.
Erpenbach's bill would also increase penalties for companies that violate Wisconsin's No Call Law . Maximum fines would be hiked from $100 to $10,000 per violation.
The measure has bi-partisan support.
