Green Bay superintendent gets Madison job

January 29, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Green Bay School Superintendent Daniel Nerad has been chosen to become the Madison school district's next superintendent. School Board President Arlene Silveira says he fit the list of characteristics developed by the community. He was unanimously selected from a final pool of candidates that was reduced to two when Miami-Dade school district administrative director Steve Gallon withdrew to accept another job. The other finalist was James McIntyre, the chief operating officer for the Boston Public Schools. School Board President Arlene Silveira says the hiring is expected to become official early next month after a background check and salary negotiations.
