Packers QB Favre named 2007 FEDEX Air NFL Player of the Year

January 31, 2008 By WRN Contributor

FedEx and the NFL named Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre the 2007 FEDEX AIR NFL PLAYER OF THE YEAR at a press conference in Arizona, site of Super Bowl XLII.

With the award, FedEx will donate $25,000 to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in the name of Brett Favre.

Favre led the Packers to a 13-3 regular season record and to the number two seed in the NFC.  He completed 66.5% of his passes for 4,155 yards and 28 touchdowns.  In 2007, Favre passed John Elway (148) for the most wins by a quarterback with 160, passed Dan Marino (420) for most career touchdown passes with 442, and passed Marino (62) for the most career games with three-or-more touchdown passes with 63 career games.  Favre also eclipsed the all-time career passing yards mark set by Marino (61,361) with 61,655.

Favre was nominated for six FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week awards in 2007, winning five times.
