Packers sign GM Thompson to contract extension

Ted Thompson The Green Bay Packers have rewarded their Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, Ted Thompson (pictured), by signing him to a five-year contract extension that runs through the 2012 season. 

Thompson is currently in his 3rd season as the head of the Packers football operations, and has built the Packers into one of the NFL 's strongest young teams, with this years squad tying a team record for wins with a 13-3 mark, on their way to the NFC North Division Championship and a first-round bye in the playoffs.
