Unraveling deadly Interstate crash

January 8, 2008 By WRN Contributor

No quick answers in Sunday's deadly pileups on the Interstate east of Madison. While preliminary reports suggest some motorists involved in Sunday's Interstate pileup east of Madison were traveling at least 70 miles an hour, Sgt. Craig Lindgren with the Wisconsin State Patrol says that's not definitive yet. Dense fog blanketed the area at the time, but Lindgren says he's unaware of any motorists driving without their headlights on. Lindgren says this an extensive investigation that will take some time. Two people were killed Sunday in a pair of separate pileup involving as many as 100 vehicles.
