HHS Secretary in Madison

February 1, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Wisconsin is leading the way in some important health care innovations. HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt says the state has been a national leader, in implementing electronic health care records. We've also done a good job in measuring and publishing information on health care quality. Still ahead says Leavitt, is the challenge of making health care price information available to consumers

In Madison Friday, Leavitt recognized the Wisconsin Healthcare Value Exchange, an effort to advance so-called Value-Driven Health Care . Wisconsin Hospitals were the first in the nation to voluntarily report information on quality and safety.
