Panthers narrowly miss upset of 9th ranked Butler

February 13, 2008 By WRN Contributor

When the game was on the line, it was Mike Green time for the 9th ranked Butler Bulldogs.

Butler survived a scare from the UW-Milwaukee Panthers in Horizon League action, beating the Panthers 83-75 in overtime.

Milwaukee led by as many as 12-points in the first and but couldn't hold it.  Green scored 10 of his 24 points in overtime, equaling his career high (24 pts) and adding a career best 13 rebounds to the tally as well.

Butler had a chance to win it in regulation, but Milwaukee's Ricky Franklin hit a three-point shot at the end of regulation.  Then Mike Green took over, hitting both of his field goals and all 6 of his free throws in the overtime to win.

The Panthers fell to 12-11 overall and 7-6 in the Horizon League, a full four games behind the Bulldogs (22-2, 11-2).

Marcus Skinner scored 25 points to lead Milwaukee in defeat.
